Many years ago, this reviewer was fortunate enough to see several paintings by W. R. Leigh in the Woolaroc Museum, out in the country beyond Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and was smitten, particularly by the big-as-life renderings of Navajo Fire Dance, 1943, and The Lookout, 1939. Leigh's work is very special, and of particular interest in this book (to this reviewer) is his minimalist renderng of Sunset on page 66. There is not a lot in print on Leigh, which makes this book very special.
