This big fat volume is subtitled "History, Appreciation and Tradition," and it consists of three big parts: Part 1 is entitled 'Understanding Art.' (25l pages), Part 2 is entitled 'Great Traditions' and is 215 pages, while Part 3 is headed 'New Traditions,' and consists of 492 pages -- making this beast 958 pages total.
