This book is regarded as a tribute to the art of the regarded Australian painter, Franz Kempf. And the book has done a great job of it. This man's abstractions are astonishly beautiful, both in form and color, and in the use of space. Note in particular, two examples (from an ample supply in this volume): Plate 11 "Kapparot 1971" and Plate 28 "Autumn Landscape 1964." View More...

This is a classic book on the Cubists and its influence on the art of the 20th century. It is a superior study, informative, detailed, and yet so pleasantly written that it is unique among art books: you actually care where this subject is taking you, and one happily goes along for the ride. No DJ, but a beautiful black cloth binding with attractive cover and white imprinted letters. There has been a repair to page 225, re-attaching it to the book, but the repair is well made and results in no harm to the book. Otherwise, we would price this book $125. View More...
